Seamless gutters: why they outlast sectional
Sectional gutters — the kind sold at home centers in 10-foot pieces — have joints every 10 feet that fail over time. Each joint is a potential leak point. Seamless gutters are fabricated on a custom roller right at your home, cut to the exact length of your roof line, with joints only at the corners. They last 20+ years and rarely leak.
5" K-Style
Standard residential profile. Handles 99% of homes with normal roof drainage. Most cost-effective option for typical Springfield ranches and two-stories.
6" K-Style (oversized)
40% more capacity than 5". Recommended for larger homes, steep-pitched roofs, or homes with heavy tree cover. Stops overflow during heavy rain.
Half-round (premium)
Architectural look for historic and high-end homes. Available in copper, painted aluminum, and galvanized steel. 30+ year service life.
Gutter guards — worth it in Springfield?
If you have any tree cover near your home, yes. We install Leaf Filter, GutterStuff, and micro-mesh systems. Most homeowners pay for the guards in 3-5 years just by avoiding the cleaning service. After that they’re saving money on cleaning AND preventing the water damage that clogged gutters cause.
What full system replacement includes
- Removal and disposal of existing gutters and downspouts
- Inspection and replacement of any rotted fascia board (about 30% of replacements need at least some fascia work)
- New seamless gutters fabricated on-site to exact roof line dimensions
- New downspouts in matching color, properly spaced for drainage capacity
- Hidden hangers every 24 inches (vs. spike-and-ferrule which loosens over time)
- Downspout extensions or splash blocks to direct water away from foundation
- Sealed end caps and inside/outside corners
When we recommend gutter replacement during a roof job
If your gutters are over 15 years old, have visible rust or sagging, or were installed with spike-and-ferrule hangers, replacing them during a roof replacement saves on labor (we're already there) and prevents new shingles from sitting over old, leaking gutters.
Pricing — what to expect
Standard 5" seamless aluminum gutters run about $7-$11 per linear foot installed. A typical Springfield home with 150-200 linear feet of gutter runs $1,200-$2,400 for full system replacement. 6" oversized gutters add about 20%. Half-round and copper run significantly higher. Gutter guards add $7-$12 per linear foot depending on system.
