About Voltage Electric Co.

Family-owned and Austin-based since 2008. We started with one truck and one commitment — do the work right, price it honestly, and stand behind it. Eighteen years later, that's still the whole plan.

Built From the Ground Up in Austin

Marcus Webb started Voltage Electric Co. in 2008 with a used service truck, a Texas master electrician's license he'd spent four years earning, and a belief that Austin homeowners deserved better than the industry standard of vague quotes, no-show appointments, and bills that didn't match the estimate.

The first few years were lean. Marcus did everything himself — answering the phone, driving to jobs, pulling permits, doing the work, and writing the invoices. What set him apart from the beginning was a refusal to cut corners. Every panel he replaced got a permit. Every circuit he added was the right gauge wire. Every job site got cleaned up before he left.

Word spread. By 2013, Marcus had hired his first two electricians. By 2018, Voltage Electric had grown to a team of eight — all licensed, all background-checked, all trained under Marcus's direct supervision. The company has now completed more than 1,200 jobs across the Austin metro area, from small ceiling fan installs in Hyde Park bungalows to full electrical build-outs for commercial tenants in the Domain.

"We're not trying to be the biggest electrical company in Austin. We're trying to be the one people call back — and the one they tell their neighbors about."

— Marcus Webb, Founder & Master Electrician

Today, Voltage Electric serves 12 cities across the Austin metro area. Marcus still takes jobs himself and reviews every permit submittal personally. The team has grown, but the standards haven't changed.

Licensed, Insured, and Accredited

Every credential we carry exists to protect you. Here's what's behind the Voltage Electric name.

Texas TECL License

License number TECL-35291. We're licensed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation as a master electrician contracting company. This license is required by Texas law and is non-negotiable — always ask any electrician for their TECL number before hiring.

Fully Insured

Voltage Electric carries $2 million in general liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage for every employee on our team. If anything goes wrong on a job — which is rare — you're protected. We'll provide a certificate of insurance to any customer or property manager who requests one.

NFPA Member

Our master electrician holds active membership in the National Fire Protection Association and stays current with the National Electrical Code (NEC) update cycle. The NEC updates every three years — we don't let code knowledge go stale, because outdated electrical practices are a real safety risk.

BBB A+ Rated

Voltage Electric has maintained an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau since 2011. We respond to every complaint within 24 hours — though complaints are rare, because we address problems directly and promptly before they ever need to escalate. Our record speaks for itself.

The People Behind the Work

Invested in Austin

We're not just a business that operates in Austin — we live here, raise our families here, and care about this city.

Local Giving & Sponsorships

Voltage Electric donates a portion of profits annually to the Austin Community Foundation and sponsors two youth sports leagues in the South Austin area. When local non-profits need electrical work for events or facility improvements, we offer deep discounts or donate the labor entirely.

Apprenticeship & Trade Education

Marcus partners with Austin Community College's electrical technology program to offer paid internship slots for second-year students. We believe the skilled trades need more investment in the next generation — and that locally-trained electricians who know Austin's housing stock are better for the entire community.

Commitment to Austin

Every dollar you spend with Voltage Electric stays in Austin. We don't subcontract to out-of-area crews. Our employees live here, shop here, and pay taxes here. When you hire a local, licensed electrician instead of a franchise, you're keeping Austin's skilled trades workforce healthy and accountable.
